Choosing the right gear architecture dictates the operational efficiency and lifetime of micro-motion setups. AKIT MOTORS specializes in two major transmission layouts:
Spur Gearboxes (e.g., GM12, GM27, N20): These configurations leverage straight-toothed gears mounted on parallel shafts. They represent the most cost-effective and energy-efficient solution for low-current applications requiring straightforward speed reductions. The simple mechanical design minimizes friction losses, which helps extend battery lifespans in mobile IoT and portable handheld devices. However, because the load is concentrated on a single gear-mesh contact point at any given moment, spur gearboxes are best suited for light-to-medium torque duties.
Planetary Gearboxes (e.g., GMP28): Designed for heavy-duty industrial challenges. The central "sun" gear drives three or four surrounding "planet" gears constrained within an outer ring gear. This design distributes torque loads across multiple contact surfaces simultaneously. As a result, planetary systems provide high torque density, superior torsional stiffness, and low backlash. Brushed DC motors are excellent for basic mechanical integration, but modern automation systems increasingly require the durability of brushless DC motors (BLDC). Operating across wide input parameters (8V-26V and 5V-28V systems), these controllers incorporate Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) speed regulation, reversible logic (CW/CCW), and active overcurrent protection.
